The Full Story
I believe there are three elements to branding/imaging photography: Consultation, media and placement.
-The consultation involves helping the client to develop a strategy that relays the story they want to tell with their personal, professional and product image. This consultation will result in a plan that outlines the shots to be taken, what look and feel they want their brand to convey, their scenarios, sequence, photo shoot timeline, location and props. Key is that this is the client’s brand, not ours.
-The media is the product of the shoot. That may include a set number of professionally edited photos and/or videos, delivered digitally ready for use in social media and websites. Print ready photography can be licensed for printing.
Placement is the actual design of the communication tools where the photos are used.
-Placement involves website design, social media posting with content copy, commercial development and print media development.
It’s my belief that the current talent capability is best suited for success with consultation and media delivery. Placement is an area that, with additional resources (possibly outsourced), may be considered at a later stage.
